Nursing (when pumping)?

I heard that some women pump only her/its/their milk and give baby instead of nursing one bottle. I wondered whether this is O.K. to now do, thereß I to the work goes back. Is it O.K. in order to now pump silence only instead of him/it or give risks it with waning milk supply?
